INSPIRED BY B. K. S. IYENGAR'S POSTHUMOUS BOOK 'YOGA FOR SPORTS’ (WESTLAND LTD, 2015), UDAY WILL GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE CONCEPTS OF STRENGTH, STAMINA AND ENDURANCE TEACHING YOU HOW TO IMPROVE THE LESSER UNDERSTOOD ASPECTS OF STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING IN YOGA PRACTICE. 


IF YOU ARE A SPORTSPERSON OR TEACH SPORTSPEOPLE THE WORKSHOP  WILL GIVE YOU SOME TOOLS AND UNDERSTANDING ON HOW TO IMPROVE AND SUPPORT YOUR, OR YOUR STUDENTS', SPORTS TRAINING.

Uday has over 15 years experience working closely with the Iyengar family and other teachers from the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India. He has taught many different groups including children, sportspeople, teachers and students of all abilities and levels as well as teaching in the RIMYI medical classes.

His own words on the making of ‘YOGA FOR SPORTS’ by B. K. S. Iyengar: ‘I was one of the fortunate students to have the opportunity to pose for the book! Nothing about my capacity to be honest. Just grateful that Guruji asked me to be there with other senior students!’

Uday has recently moved to the UK and lives in Reading where he teaches as well as Henley and North London.

Workshop suitability: Iyengar yoga teachers and students with a minimum of 2 years of practice with a currently certificated Iyengar yoga teacher

Equipment: 1 mat, blanketsbolster, beltsbricks, 4 foam pads

Food and drinks: bring your own light lunch; selection of teas and coffees provided for free during breaks

Parking: free parking available at the venue

Check-in from 1pm on Saturday and 12noon on Sunday
